Former Board Member Ammar is the Head of Corporate Sustainability at HSBC in the United Arab Emirates. He comes to this role having left behind a successful tenure as the  Head of Human Resources for HSBC in the United Arab Emirates. He has been involved in Human Resources and Training for eighteen years. In addition, he has worked with the Oil and Gas industry, and has been involved in several expansion projects in the region, including managing the deployment and demobilisation of thousands of workers. His involvement in the nationalisation plans for the country brought him to the forefront of debate on the issue, and he has presented several papers on the subject. He is very proud to have been a member of the team that was tasked with organizing the first ever elections to the Federal National Council in 2006.
His keen interest in education has led him to lecture extensively in various academic institutions in the country including the HCT on the topics of Management and Ethics. Ammar has a degree in Economics from the UK, is a lead auditor for the Dubai Human Development Award, and has for twelve years chaired the Business Advisory Committee for the Higher Colleges of Technology. Ammar has completed a Masters in International and Comparative Legal Studies from the University of London, with a specialisation in Islamic Law.
